Expert Answers about Chevrolet Captiva Sport

  • Base Plates, Tow Bar and Flat Towing Equipment for 2015 Chevy Captiva Sport
  • According to Blue Ox, the # BX3332 is a fit up to the 2014 Captiva Sport. They haven't yet had the opportunity to do a test fit. However, Roadmaster states that the 2012-2015 Captiva uses the same # 3151-1A Base Plate. I'd recommend going with the Roadmaster Base Plate because it has been confirmed as a fit. If you went with the Blue Ox, and there was a problem, you might not have warranty coverage because the fit hasn't been tested yet. You'll also need a tow bar, safety cables, a wiring...

  • Base Plates and Lighting Needed to Flat-Tow 2013 Chevrolet Captiva Sport LTZ
  • We offer base plates for your 2013 Chevrolet Captiva Sport LTZ from both Roadmaster and Blue Ox, but since you have a Roadmaster tow bar you'll be better off with Roadmaster base plate # 3151-1A as long as your Captiva Sport does not have the brush guard. If you do have the brush guard you can instead use Blue Ox base plate # BX3332. Both will require some trimming of the spoiler, air dam, grill or plastic fascia. If you use the Blue Ox base plates you'll also need an adapter to mate them...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2013 Chevy Captiva Sport Behind a Motor Home
  • I found an online copy of the owners manual for the 2013 Chevy Captiva and in section 10-70 it does indicate that you can flat tow the vehicle (front wheel drive and all wheel drive). Consult your owners manual for additional flat towing information. You will need base plates, tow bar, safety cables, lighting, and supplemental braking to flat tow a vehicle. For base plates you can use Demco base plates # DM9518218 that you referenced. For a compatible tow bar I reocmmend the Commander,...

  • Parts Needed to Flat Tow a 2013 Chevy Captiva Sport Behind a Motor Home
  • There are parts available that will allow you to flat tow a 2013 Chevy Captiva Sport. But to determine if it can be flat towed you will need to check the owners manual in the towing or recreational towing sections to see if it can be flat towed and if there are any special procedures or requirements. If you can flat tow it then you would start with base plates. You can use the Demco kit, # DM9518218. Next you will need a tow bar. I recommend the Commander II, # DM9511012. This is a motor...

  • Removeable Base Plate Drabwars for 2012 Chevy Captiva Sport/Saturn Vue
  • If your current base plates have fixed, non removable draw bars and don't have the receivers for the C001547 and C001548 removable drawbars, there's no way to retro-fit that feature. You'd need to replace the base plates entirely using # 3151-1A. If you have the base plates but the drawbars are missing, we can obtain them but we don't sell them on the website. You'd need to call our Customer Service Folks at 800-298-8924, and they can get you set up.
